WINIFRED F. GRASS
HUDSON and LAMBERT LAKE - Winifred F. Grass, 92, wife of the late Clyde Grass, died July 22, 2009 at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 27, 1917 in Danforth, the daughter of Dudley Johnson Harvey and Angie Bernice (Kinney) Harvey. Mrs. Grass worked as a welder at the shipyard in Old Orchard Beach during World War II. She then became postmaster at Lambert Lake for many years, and at the same time owned and operated sporting camps, and owned and drove her own school bus. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, baking for family and friends, and caring for her children and everyone elses, also. She made clothing for her children as they were growing up.

Winnie was a life long child of God, actively worshiping and encouraging the members of the churches of Christ in Lambert Lake, Danforth, and finally, Penobscot Valley Church of Christ in Bangor, Maine

In addition to her husband, Clyde, she was predeceased by a son, Blaine. She is survived by three sons, Harvey of Oakland, MD, Douglas of Hudson and Martin of Lambert Lake; two sisters, Stella Cutliffe of Orrington and Jackie Lubner of Oregon; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
