Virginia Briggs

Mattawamkeag - Virginia A. Briggs, 58, wife of Albert Briggs, died February 16, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born January 15, 1952, in Lincoln, the daughter of Randolph and Vera (Nadeau) Smith. Giney was a giver, was always there for her sister and was a good aunt. She enjoyed riding motorcycle, when she could.

In addition to her husband, Albert, of Mattawamkeag, she is survived by two brothers, George R. Smith, of Carroll and Harold R. Smith, of Medway; a sister, Mary Russell, of Mattawamkeag; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 12 noon-2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at Community Evangel Temple, River Rd., Lincoln, where a 2 p.m. funeral will follow, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Spring interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery.

There will be a gathering at the church, immediately after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
