RUTH C. NICKERSON

PASSADUMKEAG - Ruth C. Nickerson, 94, wife of the late Everett W. Nickerson, passed away March 3, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 1, 1916, in Woodville, the daughter of Frank and Susan (Stevens) Chesley. Mrs. Nickerson was a graduate of Skowhegan High School. She lived in Passadumkeag all her married life. She worked for many years at Old Town shoe shop. She attended Passadumkeag Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Sanford, Alton "Pat," Merl and Elwood; and two sisters, Grace Foss and Elsie Smart. She is survived by her son, Wayne and Sally Nickerson of Passadumkeag; three grandchildren and their spouses, Anne and David Milton of Howland, Nancy and David Simpson of Passadumkeag and Ray and Nancy Nickerson of West Enfield; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Jamie Milton, Megan and Heather Simpson, Jenna Shute and her husband, Mike, Kailee and Adam Nickerson; and one great-great-grandson, Mason Shute.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Aaron Webb officiating. Spring interment will be at Gould's Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag.
