Roger Carey

HOWLAND - Roger Carey, 66, passed away unexpectedly June 9, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 8, 1943, in Woodland. He attended school in Millinocket and worked at Diamond Occidental for 20 years. He retired in 1998 to live a happy life with his longtime companion of 28 years, Patricia Southard.

In addition to Patricia, he is survived by Pat's children - Roger's children if you had asked him - Troy Southard of Garland, Debra Doore and her husband, Mike, of Garland and Dale Southard of Howland; and several foster sisters. He loved his grandchildren, Edward Woodbury, Rachael Dami, Ashley Curtis, Nicole Doore and Scott Curtis; and great-grandson, Damien Green. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Curtis.

Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Howland Cemetery.
