Raymond Briggs

LINCOLN - Raymond George Briggs, 68, husband of Madeline (Dearborn) Briggs, died unexpectedly April 4, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1941, in Sherman, the son of John Durbin Briggs and Shirley (Malcolm) Briggs. Raymond was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Madeline of Lincoln, he is survived by three children, George of Lincoln, Janna Ginn of Lincoln and Chuckie of Mattawamkeag; three brothers, Almond of Lincoln, Richard of Houlton and Arthur of Oakfield; two sisters, Shirley-Ann of Smyrna and Margaret of Portland; five grandchildren, Nikki, Lanita, Paige, Jaycee and Jaycob; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John Briggs; his mother, Shirley Downs; and a brother, Kenneth.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. There will be no funeral services.
