DANFORTH - Patricia I. Day, 64, wife of Lester Day, died January 4, 2008 at a Houlton hospital. She was born July 24, 1943, in Danforth, the daughter of Burton and Gilberta (Irish) Spinney. Patricia was a graduate of Danforth High School and Husson College. She proudly served as a Navy wife for 15 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and had served on the Planning Board, Water Board ,School Board and as a Ballot Clerk in Danforth. She was a bus driver and substitute teacher for SAD 14 for 19 years and loved the school children. She loved to hunt and fish for perch, NASCAR, camping, knitting and crafts. She was loved by all that knew her.
In addition to her mother, Gilberta Spinney and her husband, Lester Day, she is survived by two children, Tracy Day-Kemper and her husband Robert and Larry Day and his wife Kim; two grandchildren, Devin Kemper and Alyssa Day; two step grandchildren, Amanda Wallace and Jennifer Ramsey; a sister, Peggy Spinney Sisson and her husband Charles; niece and nephews, Kim Crawford Weigand, Scott Crawford and Chuck Sisson; her mother-in-law, Nadine White Day; sister-in-law, Gail Day Crawford; 10 great nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her father Burton Spinney she was predeceased by a sister, Sheila Spinney.
Visiting hours for the school children will be from 2-4, Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home- Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Friends may call from 6-8, Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m, Monday, at the United Methodist Church in Danforth with Pastor Jim Boughman officiating.
