Norman E. Budge Sr

Mattawamkeag - Norman E. "Buddy" Budge, Sr., 82, husband of Shirley (Shedd) Budge, died June 16, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born June 9, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of G. Smith Budge, Jr. and Leola (Drake) Budge McGregor. Buddy was a veteran of WWII serving in the D-Day invasion in Normandy. He enjoyed gardening and cooking.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, of Mattawamkeag, he is survived by a son, Norman Budge, Jr and his wife Dorothy, of Millinocket Lake; a daughter, Barbara Budge Patterson and her husband, Keith, of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Aaron, Jonathan and James; two sisters-in-law, Emma Lambert, of Louisiana and Maria Shedd, of Mattawamkeag; an aunt, Dot Young; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father and mother, he was predeceased by his step-father, Howard McGregor.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Craig officiating. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
