| MATTAWAMKEAG -Marion Ester (Cole) Beaulieu, 85, wife of the late Onis H. Beaulieu, died November 20, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 28, 1922, on the North Road in Lee, home delivered by Dr. Fred Sherrard, the daughter of Gilford O. and Lottie Mae (Crocker) Cole. She graduated from Winn High School in 1940 and a three years School of Nursing at State St. Hospital in Portland from 1941 to 1944. From 1944 to 1945, she did private duty nursing, and entered the U. S. Army Nurse Corps, June 4, 1945 and was discharged Sept. 26, 1946. During that time in World War II, she served at the 126th General Hospital in Leyte, the Phillipines, from which all wounded soldiers were evacuated to the U. S. She also worked at the 13th General Hospital in Opaka, Japan. Marion was a humble lady who was devoted to God, Country and family. She worked at Workman Hospital as a registered nurse from 1965 to 1973 and at Colonial Acres Nursing Home until 1991. Marion was the first woman member of the VFW Post #7409, Mattawamkeag, and was a charter member of VFW Aux. #7409. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Winn and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a charter member of the Schoolhouse Quilters. Marion was known to be quick witted and was the life of the party at big family get togethers which she loved attending.
She is survived by nine children, Gayle and Mike Powell, of Homosassa, Fla., Onis A. and Ardeli Beaulieu, of Pensacola, Fla., Barbara and Gary Fearney, of Homosassa, Fla. and Kingman, Mary and Ralph Daigle, Betty and Tim Vose, all of Lincoln, Alice and Allan Alexander, of Burlington, Roberta and Kevin Lyons, of Chester, Jeffrey Beaulieu and Mike Beaulieu both of Mattawamkeag; fifteen grandchildren, Tony and Francie Glasz, Mark and Nancy Powell, Justin and Allison Powell, Brigitte Beaulieu, Anthony Beaulieu, Sean Lowell, Casey Lowell and Chris, Stephanie Lowell, Tracy and Larry Anderson, Matthew Daigle and Jenny, Kelley and Richard Dill, Joshua and Erin Vose, Adam and Alicia Alexander, April and Ron Coombs, Amy and Doug Theriault; twenty great grandchildren, Lexi, Cameron, Annabelle, Ainsley, Noah Lee, Heather, Trevor, Drew, Caitlyn, Christopher, Kassidy, Zackary, Peyton, Preston, Brooks, Brookelyn, Marina, Faith, Gavin and Parker; two brothers, John and Dot Cole of Dade City, Fla and Gilford Cole of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Littlefield of Bath; brother-in-law, Ralph Stratton of East Winn; sisters-in-law, Paula Cole of Lincoln and Connie Cole of Arizona; sister-in-law Ramona and George Baiguy; brother-in-law, Reo and Dot Beaulieu; sister-in-law, Ernestine and Harold Quackenbush; many, many nieces and nephews. . In addition to her husband 30 years, Onis, and her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mabel Stratton; two brothers, Robert Cole and Glenwood Cole; brother-in-law, Bob Littlefield; sister-in-law, Ava Cole; brother-in-law, Roland "Babe" Beaulieu; sister-in-law, Ann Beaul
ieu; mother and father-inlaw, Amanda and Alphe Beaulieu. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, November 22 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 23, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Roger Cyr presiding. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Lincoln Area Food Cupboard. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
