MARILYN F. HAMILTON

LEE - Marilyn F. Hamilton, 80, wife of Frederick Hamilton, passed away Oct. 6, 2011at a Lincoln hospital. She was born June 9, 1931 in Lincoln, the daughter of Arthur and June (McKenney) Bearce. Marilyn spent her younger days during the depression in Portland. She returned to Lincoln as a teenager, where she married Fred. She was active in the Jaycees, especially the Miss Greater Lincoln Pageant, serving on the committee and also serving as a hostess to the contestants. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Lincoln Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She and Fred ran Spruce Lodge Sporting Camps on Dobsis Lake, where they made numerous friends from all over. She was a great cook, and was especially known for her pies After retirement, they spent many winters in Florida, where they made many long time friendships. Marilyn was an active member of the Springfield Congregational Church. She made many pies for their weekly suppers prior to her health problems. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband.of 63 years, Fred, she is survived by four children, Sandra Schoeler of Homewood, Ill., Kenneth Hamilton and his wife Carla of Littleton, Barbara and her husband Barry Woodbury of Casco, and William Hamilton and his wife Pamela of Lee; ten grandchildren. Heather Ippolito, Melanie Carroll, Aaron MacLean, Angela Sheffield, Shaina Hamilton, Nia Hamilton, Tilly Hamilton, Joshua Woodbury, Cameron Hamilton, and Alaina Hamilton, seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Charles Schoeler.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery.
