JOHN CRAIG, JR.
MATTAWAMKEAG - John Craig, Jr., 62, died Aug. 4, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital, after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was born April 23, 1946, in Brookton, the son of the late John Craig Sr. and Margaret (Moore) Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl Craig of Mattawamkeag. He leaves behind a daughter, Melissa and her husband, Timothy Cooper of Mattawamkeag. He also leaves two very special grandchildren, Mariah and Matthew Cooper whom he loved dearly and cherished every moment with. He enjoyed going to all of Mariah’s softball and baseball games. Whatever activities his grandchildren were involved in, he was there. He enjoyed renting a camp and taking the whole family fishing. . He was predeceased by a son, John B. Craig, III. He is also survived by two brothers, Gerald and his wife Elaine of Lincoln, Stephen and his wife Jan of Conn., two sisters, Eva Lee of Hermon and Patricia Wing and her husband Scott of Mattawamkeag; two special brothers-in-law, Ray Moore and his wife Carolyn and Guy Moore and his wife Myrna, all of Mattawamkeag; two special aunts, Theresa Walton of Brookton and Beatrice Nichols of Lincoln; two special girls, Casey and Ronnie-Jo who loved 'Uncle' very much; many nieces and nephews who will miss 'Uncle Bun' very much. He also leaves many cousins and will be sadly missed by all the family. He also leaves his cats, Beau and Angel, who gave him a great deal of comfort and entertainment.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Craig officiating. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery.
