EROLL M. SHAIN, SR.

Brookton-Eroll Shain, Sr., age 76, passed away September 5, 2010. He was born May 12, 1934, in Brookton, Maine. He was the youngest son of George and Ruth Shain. He graduated from Lee Academy in 1952. He attended Gorham State College where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts and he also attended Central Connecticut College, where he received his Master's Degree in Industrial Arts. He taught Industrial Arts at various high schools. He retired, after 32 years of teaching, in 1988. He moved to Brookton, Maine upon retirement and did many things that he enjoyed doing. He hunted and fished at every opportunity with the help of his sons and others. He was a member of Kappa Delta Phi fraternity, was a life member of the National Education Association and the Connecticut Education Association.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ruth Shain, a daughter, Rosalie Shain (Cropley), 2 brothers, Ellsworth and William Shain. He is survived by his former wife, Bernice (Ripley) Shain (Shaw), of Vermont; a daughter, Lynne Daniels, of Brookton; two sons, Eroll Shain, Jr and wife Barbara of Princeton and Kyle Shain and companion Colleen Gordon, of Crystal Lake, CT; two brothers, Joy Shain and wife Louise, of Brookton and George Shain and wife Denise, of Orono; grandchildren, Dawn Shain-Knights and husband, Chris, of Danforth, Tammy Shain and her companion, Shawn Boyd, of Brookton, Eroll Shain, III and wife, Trina, of Brookton, Corinne Shain and companion, Steven Bilodeau, of Brookton, Pamela Shain, of Bangor, Mellissa Longval, of New Hampshire, William Daniels, of New Hampshire, Tina Potter and companion, Chad Douglas, of Vermont, and Kierra Shain, of Crystal Lake, Conn; Several brothers and sisters-law. Special mention of Charissa Hagerty, of Brookton and Gerald Gilman, of Brookton; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Haley, of Bangor, Kirsten, MacKenzie and Jenna, of Brookton, Chet, of Danforth, Christyan, of Brookton, Cassidy, of Brookton, Adam Jr and Brian, of Bangor, Ashley and Tyler, of Vermont, Jean and Kyle, of New Hampshire; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth, where services will be held at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be in New Brookton Cemetery
