Claire Stanley

PMedway-Claire Jean Stanley, 54, wife of Barry Stanley, died August 16, 2011, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born September 26, 1956, in Lincoln, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Allen) Hartford. Claire was a girl scout leader and cheerleading coach in Medway for many years. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Jaime. Claire fought a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for more than 30 years.

In addition to her husband, Barry, of Medway, she is survived by a daughter, Jaime Green and John, of East Millinocket; two grandchildren, Erick and Emma Green, of East Millinocket; four siblings, Sylvia Haskell, of Naples, FL, Fred Hartford and Joanne, of Burlington, Curtis Hartford and Barbara, and Tim Hartford and Jill, all of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Mildred Stanley, of Medway; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Stanley and Belinda, Phillip Stanley and Brenda, Michelle Stanley, Janet Otis and Ronnie, all of Medway, Pat Stanley and Judy, of East Millinocket and Scotty Stanley, of Medway; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Freda; father-in-law, Carl Stanley, Sr; and brothers-in-law, Albert Haskell and Jimmy Stanley.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 19 at Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway. In lieu of flowers, donations, in her memory, may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 74 Gray Rd., Falmouth, ME 04105. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
