Charles Day

WEST ENFIELD - Charles "Phil" Day, 77, husband of Claudette (Page) Day, passed away Oct. 8, 2007, at a Lincoln hospital. He ws born Nov 27, 1929, in Bangor, the son of Charles and Ordette (Starbird) Day. Phil was a U S Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1948 to 1954. He was a member of the American Legion and the D.A.V. He loved the Red Sox.

In addition to his wife, Claudette, he is survived by five children, Cheryl, Jeffrey, Kathy, Cindy, and Michelle and John; two foster children, Mary and Anthony; two grandchildren, Crystal and Anthony; two other grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He loved his dogs, "Sweetie" amd "Sassy." He was predeceased a son, Andrew, a brother, Cecil and a sister, Martha.

A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the South Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Penobscot Valley Humane Society, P O Box 73, Lincoln, ME 04457. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
