Barbara E. Carlow

LINCOLN- Barbara E. Carlow, 77, died Nov. 16, 2009 at a Lincoln healthcare facility with her family by her side. May you now be at eternal peace. She was born In Brooksville, ME, June 23, 1932 the daughter of Carl and Helen (Grindle) Closson. She endured a long battle with her illness for many years. She may now rest in peace with her son, Roger. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed making cakes, and knitting blankets for her family. Her door was always open to all and she was kind and thoughtful to others.

She leaves her loving and long time companion, husband and best friend, Roger Carlow; she also leaves behind two daughters, Debbie Martin of Ohio and Joannie Greene Worrell of Florida; a son, David Allan Carlow of Mattawamkeag; her siblings, Patricia Blake and her husband Ernest and Jane Hale and her husband Donald, all of Brooksville, Arlene (Tinny) O’Rourke of Cumberland, Maryland, John Closson and his wife Linda and Richard Closson and his wife Sherrianne, all of Brookesville; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends that will miss her dearly.. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Roger Carlow, Jr.

Grave side services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, at the Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones choice or the Penobscot Valley Humane Society,1 Park Ave, Lincoln, ME 04457. Arrangements are with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
