Arthur Gilman

ENFIELD - Arthur Joseph Gilman, 77, passed away peacefully Oct. 28, 2011, with his wife of 33 years, Mariam (Murphy) Gilman, by his side, at home. He was born July 1, 1934, in Enfield, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Keith) Gilman. Arthur was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, blueberrying and fiddleheading.

In addition to his wife, Mariam of Enfield, he is survived by three children, Arthur Joseph Gilman Jr. of Wisconsin, Timothy Gilman of Gray and Denise Moroney and her husband, Sean, of Old Orchard Beach; four stepchildren, Barbara Gordon of Maryland, Becky Osgood of Ellsworth, Alan Jack Weymouth of Bucksport and Karen Cunningham of Old Town; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews. He also leaves a special friend, Blaine Gordon and his wife, Lorna. Last month, Arthur lost a very special friend, his dog, Benji.
