Lee and Danforth - Arden Phillip Boardman, 72, died unexpectedly, June 25, 2008, in Carroll. He was born August 20, 1935, in Canterbury, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Andrew Earl and Josephine (McLaughlin) Boardman. Arden rented shed #2 at the Lee Flea Market, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He raised international champion Yorkshire Terriers. He loved music, gardening, animals and sports, especially the New York Yankees.
He is survived by a sister, Diane Jarvis and her husband, Gary, of Hermon; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Boardman; three nieces, Sharon Buffinton and her husband David, Penny Gray and Michele Cameron; one nephew, Byron Boardman and his wife Maureen; great nieces, Andrea Gray, Brandy Gray, Melissa Cameron, Meghan Boardman and Mackenzie Gray; great nephews, Colby Gray, Michael Cameron and Cameron Boardman; special friends, John Colle, Molly Moody, Mrs. Nellie House, Carroll and Lindsay Nevells, Steve Hanscom and Ainsley and Betsy McPhee. In addition to his parents, Arden was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent Boardman and Robert Boardman; two sisters, Noreen and Daphne Boardman.
Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev Dana Douglas officiating. Following the memorial service, there will be a reception at the Lee Academy Dining Hall. Interment will be Sunday in Canterbury Cemetery, Canterbury, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Springfield Congregational Church or the Penobscot Valley Humane Society. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
